Artist's Comments

Created a hero template figure that I liked, so I decided to test it out with a hero. Ol' Bats here was on my original list, and as the first 3 were super powered beings I didn't know if Bats would fit into that group, but now I'm glad I did him too. I've drawn Batman before, but it's always a new adventure in discovery after some time passes when drawing him as his costume is always changing subtly and with the latest incarnations of the character in Comics, Animation, and Movies it's never the same old Batman. One of the only who has seriously stood the test of time, and has maintained coolness.

I think batman was the first hero of my life (and still goes on)
I first saw him on tv in the animated series (I was just 3 years old then so I rarely could watch because of my parents)
I drew him (and robin)most as child, and I think I still got all the batman action-figures at the loft :)
The movies didn't disappoint me at all, and definetively not The Dark Knight :)
And the picture is totally awesome :D Go Batman :w00t:

Batman has yet to let me down as a character despite a few bad movies. I watched the animated series almost religiously and I can't even put into words how much it has affected my outlook on animation, storytelling, and character development.
Bats continues to rise from the ashes like a phoenix.
